Luxurious Foods for Low Carb Diets

If you're eating low carb, you're in luck. A lot of delicious foods are on the menu. Here are six scrumptious items you can add into your daily diet- in moderation, of course.

Bacon.

Almost everyone likes bacon, and its crunchy, salty, almost-sweet qualities. It's good on its own, topping salads, in soups, sprinkled on salmon, beef or chicken, or beside some eggs.  Go ahead and eat this low-carb treat, but keep it to no more than one ounce a day.

Nuts.

In a recent study, it was found that a handful of nuts daily reduced the risk of cardiovascular disease, respiratory diseases, diabetes and some cancers. So why not indulge in this simple and simply delicious snack? Keep it to a handful a day and you're on your low-carb way to great health!

Butter and Cream.

Oh, the things you can do with a little butter and cream. Delicious sauces,  butter on fresh steamed vegetables,  strawberries with a dollop of cream, or make a cream sauce for your zucchini noodles. Or try our Tilapia with Mushroom & Artichoke Hearts  from our low carb a la carte menu.

Avocados.

They may not seem like an indulgence to some, but avocados carry a whopping 234 calories and 21g of fat per serving. Whip up some Guacamole and serve it with strips of bell pepper, cucumber and jicama.

Pork Rinds.

Pork rinds are a crunchy, salty treat with a ton of flavor. Use them to dip up guacamole or salsa. They aren't only good on their own, but terrific crunched up and used to top salads or mix them with cheese, top a tomato half, and broil. But like bacon and the other items on this list, eat them in moderation, only a few per day, or you'll find the scale climbing.

Dark Chocolate.

No need to rhapsodize about chocolate, we all love it. Dark chocolate has lots of anti-oxidants.  It is great with a small drink of good Scotch whiskey!  Eat it with a few nuts or berries, or on its own.
